ABA Raffle - Great Prizes

The Manning / Great Lakes Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association are holding a fundraising raffle to purchase hand out material to distribute at community events. We have secured 13 absolutely fantastic prizes with a total prize pool of over $1,680 from local businesses.

Tickets are $2 each, with only 1,000 tickets available. There are 13 fantastic prizes on offer with the 1st prize being a 3 night accommodation package at Australis Diamond Beach Resort and Spa in a two bedroom, two bathroom self contained villa valued at $960 and valid till 30 June 2010.

Our Environmental Posters Used to Promote Breastfeeding in Canada

We are excited that Oxford County Health Unit in southwestern Ontario, Canada has again used our services to provide billboard designs to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. They were displayed for the month of October and again are receiving a great response.

Last year Oxford County’s Health Unit in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, chose to promote breastfeeding and the environment for World Breastfeeding Week.

With an altered copy we supplied of our Environmental poster, they printed two billboards which will be displayed for the month of October at the entrances to Woodstock and Ingersoll. They are very pleased and have already received rave reviews and more positive comments than any other billboard they have displayed in the past.

Oxford County has a mostly rural population of approximately 100,000. Additional posters were purchased to distribute to their local health units, outreach sites and local doctors’ offices.

The results of our Breastfeed! Where did you do it today? photography competition are in.
We received 21 outstanding entries and the judging took place by three independent judges with a range of criteria used to score each photo.

Breastfeeding for Kids

Packs designed to educate parents, carers and children attending childcare and preschools across the Manning / Great Lakes region will be delivered soon. These packs contain information on correct handling of expressed breastmilk, combining breastfeeding with placing your child in care and colouring in sheets and activity books for the children. Combining the message of breastfeeding and the environment, this project aims to normalise breastfeeding for a whole new generation. (Funds donated by Holiday Coast Credit Union)

Stockland Forster Shopping Centre receives 5* Status for its Baby Room

If you have been to the newly developed shopping centre in Forster, you may have experienced the 5 Star Baby Care Room. The room is beautiful with private breastfeeding rooms, toilets for parents fitted with a chair on the wall to hold toddlers, and a baby change area with disposable covers.

The Manning-Great Lakes Group of ABA presented the certificate on on the 3rd October. Designer Will Smith travelled from Sydney to accept the award.
